The University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship recently hosted their fall pitch party at the Venture Development Center, complete with 31 student pitch presentations and a $1,500 prize pool - an all-time high in pitch party history.

This year’s University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship Fall Pitch Party will be held at the Venture Development Center from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Any undergraduate student is allowed to pitch and any student, faculty or staff may attend. The event is free, although registration is required to pitch or attend. Spots are limited to pitch and spectate and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students from across all seven colleges are encouraged to attend to get a taste of what Horn Entrepreneurship has to offer!

Sarah Robb O’Hagan, the founder of Extreme You, received the 2019 Siegfried Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership on Oct. 12 at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington, DE. O’Hagan, a native of New Zealand, donated the $10,000 honorarium to Friends of AUT, a charity in connection with the Auckland University of Technology.

The University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship has announced the winner of the 2019 Siegfried Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership: former president of Gatorade and founder of Extreme You, Sarah Robb O’Hagan.

The Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation is honoring Horn Entrepreneurship Founder, Charlie Horn, with the Pete du Pont Freedom Award. The award celebrates entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and economic growth.

The Summer Founders teams convened one last time on Tuesday, August 20, at the Venture Development Center for the 2019 Demo Day. The eight startup teams worked diligently all summer on their respective ventures, and each was able to showcase that hard work through their individual presentations. Along with the Summer Founders teams, the Venture Development Center was filled with potential investors, UD alumni, and other members of the Horn Entrepreneurship community.

Winners of the Hen Hatch competition were announced during its final round on Tuesday, April 30 at the Queen in Wilmington, Delaware.

The Innovation Showcase, featuring Hen Hatch semi-finalist teams, will take place before the final presentations at Hen Hatch on Tuesday, April 30. Hen Hatch attendees and guests are invited and encouraged to join the Horn Entrepreneurship community in celebrating the success of semi-finalist teams and learning about their next steps on the entrepreneurial journey,

Six teams comprised of students and alumni from across several colleges, including Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics, College of Arts & Sciences and College of Engineering, are advancing to the final round of Hen Hatch, UD’s premier startup funding competition. Finalist teams will pitch before a panel of accomplished judges and an audience of regional business leaders, experienced entrepreneurs and the broader UD community for a share of a $100,000 prize pool.
