The University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship has announced the winner of the 2018 Siegfried Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership: global entrepreneur, visionary, speaker and author, Dave LaRue.

Horn Entrepreneurship successfully hosted the inaugural Tech Innovation Showcase on Thursday, Oct. 4. at the Perkins Student Center. The University of Delaware community was able to get a first-hand look at exciting new commercializing tech from the featured science and tech startup exhibitors.

The University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship fall pitch party will be held at the Venture Development Center from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24. Undergraduate students from any college may pitch but any UD student, faculty or staff, may watch. The event is free but to pitch or attend you must register at bit.ly/undertheseapitch.

VentureOn, University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship in-semester startup support program, helps students hatch and grow businesses.

The University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship Summer Founders program has returned for 2018 with eight student startup teams. The teams represent seventeen students from four colleges. Through Aug. 22 the founders will be working to validate their business models and gain customers.

Winners of the Hen Hatch competition were announced during its final round on Tuesday at the World Café Live at the Queen in Wilmington, Delaware.

Hen Hatch, hosted by Horn Entrepreneurship, is the University of Delaware’s premier startup funding competition. With two different tracks, one for UD students and one for alumni, faculty and staff, Hen Hatch provides participants with the opportunity to make connections and collect feedback on their ideas.

Seven teams comprised of students and alumni from University of Delaware Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, College of Arts and Sciences and College of Engineering are advancing to the final round of Hen Hatch, UD’s premier startup funding competition. Teams will pitch before a panel of accomplished judges and an audience of regional business leaders, experienced entrepreneurs and UD community for a share of a $100,000 prize pool.
