The latest recipients for Blue Hen 17&43 Most Promising Venture awards were announced at the first Blue Hen Innovation Fest. Theseawards are Horn Entrepreneurship and the Lerner College of Business & Economics' annual recognition of the University of Delaware's most promising early-stage startups.

Four teams competed in the final round of Hen Hatch, UD’s premier startup funding competition, and all four won thousands of dollars from a panel of judges – plus $2,500 for travel expenses to other competitions and often time with consultants.

Eleven teams advanced to the second round of Hen Hatch, UD’s premier startup funding competition. These semifinalists will compete on October 25 to find out which of the promising concepts will advance to the final round of Hen Hatch at the 2024 Blue Hen Innovation Fest on December 5.

Horn Entrepreneurship welcomed the second cohort of Innovation Delaware (InDE) Fellows. The cohort hails from both inside and outside of the University of Delaware with research interests ranging from health equity for low-income mothers to nanoparticles to enhance disease detection and treatment. Horn Entrepreneurship recently kicked off the academic year with a vibrant welcome party for entrepreneurship majors. The welcome party, themed “Camp Horn,” was designed to immerse students in a lively, camp-inspired atmosphere, fostering connections, and excitement as they start the fall semester. With themed decorations and engaging activities, the gathering offered a perfect blend of networking, refreshments, and fun.
