Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine name UD a top school for undergraduate entrepreneurship studies

University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship is one of the best in the nation, according to The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine. The magazine’s joint ranking placed UD at #38 overall and #8 in the Northeast in its 2022 list of the top 50 undergraduate schools for entrepreneurial studies.

Thank you to Horn National Advisory Board member Dee Ridgeway and the Predictive Analytics Group (PAG), the company Dee cofounded with two other UD alumni for their support of innovation at the University of Delaware. David Breyla and Noah Lux have been in the vinyl car wrapping industry for years. Working for University of Delaware alumni Greg Star and Mac Macleod at Carvertise since late high school, the pair gained unparalleled experience overseeing vinyl installations at the nation’s largest rideshare advertising company. They also spent time at several other vinyl wrapping businesses over the years, combining for over 12 years of hands-work. With a mass of experience behind them, Breyla and Lux saw a gap in the market where they could fill a need no one else could.

Once a molecular biology major, Lynn Roberts’ academic journey and interests took a drastic turn from science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) when she delved deeper into the University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship.  

Meet Glen Gaddy joining the Horn Entrepreneurship Team in a new role as Managing Director of the University Launch Fund. Gaddy plans to utilize his extensive experiences as an entrepreneur and innovator from both his corporate and academic roles. He comes to Horn as the Managing Member of long standing angel investor group, Robin Hood Ventures, and serves as chair of Mid Atlantic Diamond Ventures, the leading quarterly early stage pitch forum in the Mid Atlantic.

Eight high schools joined together to participate in the inaugural EntreX Lab Delaware Connect design sprint, a timed competition in which students address a problem and pitch a solution to a panel of judges.

An entrepreneur’s job is not to build a product. An entrepreneur’s job is to build a method to make money. Too often folks miss these insights. After graduation, university startups can go in many directions. Some founders continue to work solely on their startup, while others come up with new ideas or combine their drive with other startups. One thing that is consistent among university entrepreneurs is their passion to continue to grow and succeed. 

The Venture Development Center provides a central location for student entrepreneurial activity.

Horn Entrepreneurship is pleased to announce a successful fall lineup of VentureOn teams. Twenty teams from across campus ranging from undergraduate to graduate students compose the newest cohort. VentureOn, offered each semester, is for students who already have a startup or social venture and are working on building revenue, meeting customers, and other needed resources.
