University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship’s 2020 Diamond Challenge this year conquered its own big challenge: pivoting from a three-day campus program to two weeks of creative and expanded virtual sessions.

The Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) named University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship a finalist for the Excellence in Specialty Entrepreneurship Education Award for Horn’s Youth Initiative.

University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship announced the winners of this year’s Diamond Challenge at the Diamond Challenge Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (Summit) on Friday, April 13, in Clayton Hall.

Fifty teams from across the globe have been accepted into the semi final round of the Diamond Challenge.

A series of workshops will be offered for high school entrepreneurs at this year’s Diamond Challenge Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (the Summit), which will take places between April 11 and 13 at the University of Delaware’s Clayton Hall.

Founder and Executive Director of ScholarCHIPS, Yasmine Arrington will serve as one of the keynote speakers at this year’s Diamond Challenge Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (the Summit) on April 12 at the University of Delaware’s Clayton Hall.

The Summit provides a three day conference experience that focuses on youth entrepreneurs from around the world. High school students in attendance will be able to meet competitors from across the world, grow with other likeminded and motivated youth and hear from seasoned and successful entrepreneurs.

The Summit, brought to you by the amazing people who run the Diamond Challenge, is totally focused on youth and entrepreneurship and providing a unique and life changing experience to any aspiring high school entrepreneur. Visit the three day conference and enjoy meeting other young entrepreneurs, dancing with new friends and speaking to successful entrepreneurs.

The Diamond Challenge is seeking mentors to guide its participants for the 2018 competition season. Created in 2012 by the University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship, and sponsored by Capital One, the Diamond Challenge is an entrepreneurship competition for high school students that allows teens to learn about entrepreneurship while putting their ideas into action.

University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship alum Zack Jones, class of 2017, has officially taken on the role of interim director for Dual School. Dual School is a student idea incubator that runs a free, 10-week program for local high school students to practice putting their ideas into action. Students go to downtown Wilmington’s co-working space, 1313 Innovation, and take advantage of mentorship, resources and connections to a wide array of networks.
