Spring Pitch Party 2020

Horn Entrepreneurship invites all current University of Delaware students to attend the spring pitch party! The spring pitch party is a biannual event hosted by Horn Entrepreneurship in which students are given 90 seconds to pitch their most interesting business ideas to a small group of judges and attendees with an opportunity to win a prize. This event is a perfect way for UD students of any background to get experience with pitching business ideas and getting their creative propositions out there.

Six UD students prepare for Clinton Foundation program in Scotland

One recent graduate and five students, most of whom belong to University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship and others from the Department of Human Development & Family Sciences (HDFS), College of Arts and Sciences and the Biden School of Public Policy and Administration, have been accepted into the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGIU) this year. A program launched by former president Bill Clinton in 2007, CGIU seeks to engage the next generation of leaders on college campuses as they address the world’s most pressing challenges.

Lazarus Rising: UD Alumni Grow Nonprofit, Helping the Homeless Find Work

A recent Lazarus Rising mentoring session suggests good things to come for the future of both the young nonprofit and its participants. The session involved a college student in Washington giving one-on-one job-hunting advice via video chat to a resident of a New York homeless shelter.

Innovative Delaware Educator Award Winners Selected

The Innovative Delaware Educator Awards celebrate the contributions of high school educators towards creating an environment for students to grow their entrepreneurial skills. Horn Entrepreneurship values the work of educational professionals, and looks to support them in creating innovative opportunities for Delaware students. Each of the awards provides a mini grant of up to $500 to be used towards an innovative project at their school. The program will officially launch on January 28 during a kickoff event at the Venture Development Center.

Meet Laurie Prysock: Blue Hen Returns for External Engagement

The arc of Laurie Prysock’s career spans the seemingly disparate realms of politics and entrepreneurship. Growing up in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, she studied political science at the University of Delaware and interned in the presidential campaign as a student.
