University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship announced the winners of this year’s Diamond Challenge at the Diamond Challenge Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (Summit) on Friday, April 13, in Clayton Hall.

University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship venture Wilminvest won the Pitch Slam competition in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The competition was a part of e-Fest® 2018, a 3-day celebration of undergraduate entrepreneurship.

Seven teams comprised of students and alumni from University of Delaware Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, College of Arts and Sciences and College of Engineering are advancing to the final round of Hen Hatch, UD’s premier startup funding competition. Teams will pitch before a panel of accomplished judges and an audience of regional business leaders, experienced entrepreneurs and UD community for a share of a $100,000 prize pool.

The University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship recently hosted their biannual pitch party in the Venture Development Center.

University of Delaware graduate student Garry Johnson placed first at the Startup Tech Conference and Pitch Competition at Prairie View A&M University on Feb. 22, 2018. The competition was hosted by A&M student group HBCU.vc, a not-for-profit organization that connects and equips the next generation of black and brown tech innovators and investors. The prize is an opportunity to interview for the DivInc Accelerator Program.

The Blue Hen 17 & 43 awards celebrate the University of Delaware’s tradition of leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship. It recognizes the 17 most- promising ventures and 43 fastest-growing companies founded, owned or led by UD students and alumni.

Fifty teams from across the globe have been accepted into the semi final round of the Diamond Challenge.

The University of Delaware youth entrepreneurship summit, Summit, provides a unique three day conference experience for high school students interested in entrepreneurship. The conference has been ranked as a must-attend event for young entrepreneurs. This year, the Summit theme is A World Made By You and will include a new feature, the Made by You Market, offering items created by young entrepreneurs.

Twelve teams from the student track and 10 teams from the alumni, faculty and staff track are advancing to the semifinal round of the University of Delaware’s 2018 Hen Hatch startup funding competition.

A series of workshops will be offered for high school entrepreneurs at this year’s Diamond Challenge Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (the Summit), which will take places between April 11 and 13 at the University of Delaware’s Clayton Hall.
