The University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship has announced the winner of the 2018 Siegfried Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership: global entrepreneur, visionary, speaker and author, Dave LaRue.

Change is hard! Like, so hard we never talk about it and just avoid it, pushing the inevitable hardship off. And don’t even mention your startup needing a change - the idea you’ve put your heart and soul into can feel too weighty and special to want to mess with. But sometimes, change is the best way to move forward, especially for your venture. 

Horn Entrepreneurship successfully hosted the inaugural Tech Innovation Showcase on Thursday, Oct. 4. at the Perkins Student Center. The University of Delaware community was able to get a first-hand look at exciting new commercializing tech from the featured science and tech startup exhibitors.

The University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship fall pitch party will be held at the Venture Development Center from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24. Undergraduate students from any college may pitch but any UD student, faculty or staff, may watch. The event is free but to pitch or attend you must register at bit.ly/undertheseapitch. 

University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship will hold the inaugural Tech Innovation Showcase on Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Perkins Student Center from 12:30 to 5 p.m. The showcase is an opportunity to engage with UD’s top scientists and engineers who are creating solutions to the world’s biggest problems, and features seventeen presenter teams.

Hawaii Governor David Ige recently signed a bill into law banning sunscreens that include ingredients harmful to coral reef development. RiKarbon, a sustainable startup making waves at University of Delaware, is exploring eco-friendly alternatives to harmful ingredients in cosmetic and skin care products to provide a greener option for lotion consumers. RiKarbon will be presenting at the Tech Innovation Showcase on Oct. 4.

The University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship is holding the inaugural Tech Innovation Showcase on October 4 from 12:30 to 5 p.m. at the Perkins Student Center.  The showcase is an opportunity to engage with UD’s top scientists and engineers who are creating solutions to the world’s biggest problems.

The University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship Signature Internship Program is a specialized internship placement program for Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation (ENTI) majors. Horn Entrepreneurship leverages relationships and professional contacts across the country to match qualified students with partner organizations in special, innovative roles.
