Out of This World Pitch Party on March 21

This year’s University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship spring pitch competition, Out of This World Pitch Party, will be held at the Venture Development Center from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 21. Any undergraduate student is allowed to pitch and any student, faculty or staff may attend. The event is free, although registration is required to pitch or attend. Spots are limited to pitch and spectate, and are filled on a first come, first served basis.

DEAFO Leverages Horn Entrepreneurship Connection for New Grant

Ahad Behboodi and his advisor, Dr. Samuel Lee, of DEAFO, recently participated in the University of Delaware I-Corps Site program with a new lightweight soft ankle-foot orthosis device that is intended to treat children with Cerebral Palsy. Through the I-Corps Site program, Behboodi and his team connected with the Horn Entrepreneurship community of entrepreneurs and creators while also learning about business models and customer discovery, the entrepreneurial method to determine the best problem-solution fit.

Seven teams comprised of students and alumni from University of Delaware Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, College of Arts and Sciences and College of Engineering are advancing to the final round of Hen Hatch, UD’s premier startup funding competition.
