Step Up to the Plate at Fall Pitch Party

2025 Fall Pitch Party

Do you have an idea for a new product or service? Step up to the plate and take a swing at the Fall Pitch Party on Wednesday, October 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Venture Development Center (VDC). This baseball-themed event is perfect for rookies who are new to pitching ideas or veteran players. It’s a fun, fast-paced night where creativity meets community and everyone walks away a winner.

Pitch Party is part of UD’s greater celebration of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. During the event, students will share their ideas in 90-second pitches before an audience of their peers and a panel of judges featuring young alumni entrepreneurs and innovators.

Prizes & Awards

Everyone who pitches earns money! All pitchers receive a $20 gift card and the top three teams earn:

  • 1st Place: $300 cash
  • 2nd Place: $200 cash
  • 3rd Place: $100 cash

Topical Awards recognize teams in the following categories: Most Creative, Most Promising, Most Interesting, and Most Motivated.

Registration

All UD undergraduate students are welcome to pitch or attend. Spectators are encouraged to come cheer on their peers and join in the energy!

Tickets for pitchers and spectators are free, but only 15 pitch spots are available. The registration deadline is Sunday, October 19 at 11:59 p.m. Both pitchers and spectators should register.
