Horn Student Award Winners 2019 Announcement

Fallpitchparty2018-35_blogSeven UD Students were honored with scholarships and awards from Horn Entrepreneurship for the 2018-2019 school year. The students will be formally recognized for their achievements at an award ceremony held during the final round of Hen Hatch, UD’s premier startup competition.

Brad & Jennifer Bono Award

Nico Repollé, an Entrepreneurship & Technology Innovation major, Class of 2021, was awarded the Brad & Jennifer Bono Award for his entrepreneurial leadership and social impact. Repollé will receive a VDC credit to further his entrepreneurial education through startup activity or a cash award.

Outstanding Senior Awards

Emma Lynch, Joel Amin, Entrepreneurship & Technology Innovation majors, Class of 2019, and Jodi Stern, Entrepreneurship & Technology Innovation and Marketing major, Class of 2019, are recipients of Outstanding Senior Awards. The Outstanding Senior Awards are presented to ENTI majors who have applied the skills taught in the major to positively impact Horn Entrepreneurship and other University of Delaware students. 

2019 Horn Award

Isabella Rimton, an Entrepreneurship & Technology Innovation major, Class of 2020, was awarded the 2019 Horn Award, which is given to a student who promises to realize a great immediate benefit from the receipt of the award. The Horn Award is funded by annual gifts from the faculty who teach ENTR-designated courses. 

Shawn & Sheryl McCall Award for Entrepreneurship

Amanda Monachelli, an Entrepreneurship & Technology Innovation major, Class of 2021, and April Singleton, an Entrepreneurship & Technology Innovation major, Class of 2021, are this year’s recipients of the of the Shawn & Sheryl McCall Award for Entrepreneurship. Monachelli and Singleton were recognized for showing entrepreneurial promise early in their college careers. Both students will receive a check that is divided into a cash award, a stipend for active participation in Venture Development Center (VDC) programming and VDC credit, which can be put towards participation in startup events and travel to meet with advisors and prospective customers.
