The Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation is honoring Horn Entrepreneurship Founder, Charlie Horn, with the Pete du Pont Freedom Award. The award celebrates entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and economic growth.
“Charlie Horn epitomizes what the Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation stands for and mirrors many of the actions taken by Governor Pete du Pont during his years in public office,” said Pete Du Pont Foundation Board Chair Scott Malfitano. “Charlie looks at problems, builds coalitions, and comes up with innovative solutions to tackle the issue at hand.”
Charlie Horn founded two Fortune 500 companies, ScriptSave and HealthTrans, and University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship. Since its founding in 2012, Horn Entrepreneurship has grown to offer 10 academic programs, a suite of venture development and commercialization programs and an internationally recognized program for high school students.
“In every occasion I have had to work with Charlie you walk out of the room with a sense of energy and empowerment,” Malfitano continued, “I suspect that’s the same type of impression Bill Belichick and Nick Saban have on their championship teams. Charlie provides his unique perspective and passion to every conversation and never takes a moment for granted.”
Charlie will accept the award September 18 at the Hotel du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware, at an event honoring him.
