Horn Entrepreneurship

Camp Horn: Welcoming New Entrepreneurship Majors to UD

Horn Entrepreneurship recently kicked off the academic year with a vibrant welcome party for entrepreneurship majors. The welcome party, themed “Camp Horn,” was designed to immerse students in a lively, camp-inspired atmosphere, fostering connections, and excitement as they start the fall semester. With themed decorations and engaging activities, the gathering offered a perfect blend of networking, refreshments, and fun.

Networking

First year entrepreneurship students met and mingled with other entrepreneurship majors, who gave advice about courses to take or entrepreneurship programs to join. The first year students competed for tickets they could use for a raffle of items such as a Horn water bottle, Horn pom-pom winter hat, and gift cards to main street shops.

Connecting with Faculty and Staff

A record number of faculty and staff attended the welcome party to meet with new entrepreneurship majors and reconnect with returning majors.

Activities & Goodies

The theme was prevalent from the decorations to the food selection and games.  Guests received a scavenger hunt with clues to find certain students, faculty and staff. The refreshments ranged from make-your-own trail mix to “sleeping bag” wraps and “pile of leaves” salad.

Thanks to Samantha McGhee, Carys Hulse, and Amanda Membrado for organizing this fun and engaging kick-off to the fall semester. Also, a big thank you to all the entrepreneurship majors who attended and everyone that contributed to this event!
