Horn Entrepreneurship’s Enrichment programs enhance the college experience by bringing students into a supportive community of like-minded peers while helping them gain valuable skills, experiences, and connections outside the classroom.

Each year, the program kicks off with the Ignite! Which is an early move-in program, welcoming new entrepreneurship majors and Delaware Innovation Fellows (DIF) to campus. This initiative allows a select group of innovative students to start their college journey with collaborative activities, shared meals, and plenty of fun. Participants engage in hands-on projects and workshops designed to spark their entrepreneurial journeys. By the end of Ignite!, allows students to get familiar with their peers and to also have a head start in their entrepreneurial pursuits and academic journey.

Program Activities

The program helps Horn students feel more comfortable and prepared for their first semester at UD by providing opportunities to build meaningful connections with their peers, explore Horn’s opportunities, and become familiar with the campus. The program allows students to tour the campus. Then students get to know their new surroundings through a cross-campus scavenger hunt, tackling challenges like taking a photo with a Delawarean and singing "Happy Birthday" on the Green.  Through Ignite, Horn students experience many "firsts"—such as meeting college friends, trying the different variety of foods on Main Street, and spending time in the Venture Development Center. This experience helps students genuinely connect with the Horn community for the first time.

The Horn CommunityHorn Entrepreneurship allows students to learn about different opportunities. The event program allows students to form connections early, thereby enhancing the strength of the entrepreneurial community. Also, from the Ignite Program the students are able to get just a snapshot of what Horn does for the community and the different programs that are available to join in.

The Ignite Move-In Program marks the beginning of an exciting entrepreneurial journey at Horn. From day one, students connect with peers and mentors who will guide and inspire them throughout their time here. This program establishes a strong foundation for the students entrepreneurial growth, with many more opportunities to meet successful entrepreneurs and like-minded individuals in the semesters ahead. We're excited to welcome our new Horn students and look forward to seeing them innovate and thrive on their paths to success.
