As School Partnerships Manager at Horn Entrepreneurship, Brittany Acosta is helping expand access to entrepreneurship education beyond the University of Delaware campus. Through partnerships with high schools, she works with educators and administrators to bring business, innovation, and leadership courses to students before they begin their college journey.
Originally beginning her academic career as a premed major, Acosta became deeply involved in campus life, serving in student government, student orientation, and her sorority. This involvement sparked a passion for helping college students grow and succeed, which eventually became a viable and highly rewarding career path.
Before joining Horn, Acosta spent more than a decade developing student-centered educational experiences through leadership in orientation programs, curriculum design, and student success initiatives. She has led regional orientation programs, designed engaging learning experiences, and supported student leaders as they developed their own skills and confidence. At Horn, she now applies that experience to building partnerships with high schools, supporting educators, and expanding access to entrepreneurship education for students before they begin college.
Brittany brings the same enthusiasm and community-minded approach to life outside the office. When she’s not collaborating with school administrators or supporting educators, you'll likely find her cheering on Argentina’s national soccer team, enjoying Formula 1 race days with her family, or planning a dream food business.

Tell us a bit about your role and responsibilities at Horn.
After receiving my doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Delaware, Horn Entrepreneurship proved to be the perfect fit for my background, as my extensive work in student transition programs, coupled with my deep familiarity with UD, translated seamlessly into this role. Most recently, I spent four years in the Fraternity and Sorority life sector, serving as the Senior Director of Leadership and Education for the Delta Phi Epsilon International Headquarters.
Today, I oversee our school partnerships, collaborating directly with high schools to implement our three EntreX Lab courses: EntreX, DesignX, and LeadX. This initiative equips high school students with the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world by fostering agile thinking and creative problem-solving. By empowering educators to deliver this engaging and innovative curriculum, we give students the opportunity to address real-world challenges in their classrooms and communities while earning college credit at a significantly discounted, accessible rate. Ultimately, these courses help students demonstrate their ability to succeed in university-level work while developing essential, lifelong skills like collaboration, critical thinking, and persuasive communication.
The best part of the job is having the opportunity to form strong connections with school administrators, teachers, and the student groups that participate in our programs and events.
What do you enjoy most about working here?
The Horn team members are so fun to be around, and everyone works incredibly hard to create meaningful experiences for those we serve. I am also in awe of the high school students who participate in our programs. Being able to learn about their innovations and business ventures is truly inspiring.
There is a palpable sense of pride and community that comes when working with a team with a set of shared values and the goal to provide high quality experiential learning to students, both before in high school and once they (hopefully) become blue hens themselves.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
We love soccer in our family. You can almost always find us watching (and rooting for Argentina), coaching, playing, or talking about the sport. We’re also big Formula 1 fans — we watch all the races and try to create themed days and meals centered around the race locations! I also love reading as much as possible and doing arts and crafts with my kids.
On the coaching side, I work on two completely opposite ends of the spectrum. I coach U8 recreational soccer, where the focus is entirely on fundamental skills and learning the joy of the game. On the high school side, I serve as the performance coach for the girls' soccer team at Odessa High School. Instead of focusing on technical aspects of the game, I lean heavily into my background in psychology and counseling. I help the athletes build strong team dynamics, improve communication, and optimize their performance. It's incredibly fulfilling to help young women athletes manage those mental barriers the same way I would for students in the classroom.
Please share a fun fact about yourself.
When I’m not on campus or at the sports fields, I help manage an online community and events for a women's leadership membership organization run by a close friend, which keeps me connected to regional female entrepreneurs. This is similar to the connection I had to my work with my sorority.
At home, culture and family are central to everything we do. My husband is Argentinian and keeping that heritage alive for our kids matters a lot to us. I love making empanadas, and we have a standing tradition called 'Flan Friday' on the first Friday of every month.
We also love to travel! No matter the destination, our itinerary always includes three non-negotiables: exploring local soccer stadiums, visiting libraries, and finding authentic Argentinian restaurants.

My work lives at the intersection of leadership development, partnership management, and student transitions. While I'm based at Horn, I'm always happy to collaborate, share insights, and support student success however I can.
