As the Winter and Spring athletic seasons came to a close, University of Delaware Athletics celebrated the meaningful connections between student-athletes and faculty through its annual Most Valuable Professor (MVP) event. The program gives student-athletes the opportunity to recognize professors who have made a lasting impact on their academic and personal success.
This year, several Horn Entrepreneurship faculty members were honored by student-athletes. These professors were recognized for creating supportive classroom environments that challenged students to grow while making them feel valued and encouraged along the way. Professors were invited to athletic events where they were publicly recognized by the student-athletes who nominated them. The event served as a reminder that the influence of great educators extends far beyond the classroom, helping students succeed both academically and personally throughout their time at the University of Delaware.
Among the faculty members recognized during this year’s MVP events were several professors from Horn Entrepreneurship whose impact extended far beyond the classroom. Professor Abayomi Akinboye was honored by Kailah Correa of the University of Delaware Women’s Basketball team for his support and influence throughout her academic journey. Dr. Johann Ducharme received recognition from both Keegan Lathrop of the Men’s Lacrosse team and Bridget Chapman of the Softball team, highlighting the impact he has had on students across multiple athletic programs. Additional honorees included Charis Asante-Agyei, who was recognized by Ryder Buell and Brady Wesloski of the Men’s Lacrosse team; Stephanie Raible, who was honored by student-athletes from the Men’s Basketball team; and Nat Measley, who was recognized by members of the Men’s Lacrosse team.
The recognition of multiple Horn Entrepreneurship faculty members reflects the program’s commitment to creating meaningful learning experiences that extend far beyond the classroom.
