Vince DiFelice will host a Hen Hatch question and answer event on Monday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. through the Horn Entrepreneurship Facebook page.

DiFelice, who is an assistant professor of practice, and lead of venture support for Horn Entrepreneurship, will be broadcasting live from the Venture Development Center (VDC). Those interested in learning more about Hen Hatch can attend the event either in person or virtually through Facebook.

Hen Hatch is UD’s premier startup funding competition that provides entrepreneurial students alumni, faculty and staff with the opportunity to make connections and collect feedback on their ideas while competing for startup cash and prizes totaling $100,000.

The competition is broken into two tracks, one specifically for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at UD, and another for all alumni and current or retired faculty and staff.

There are three rounds to determine award winners. The preliminary round consists of participants submitting a three to five page written business concept for evaluation. In the semifinal round 10 teams from each track who have been judged as having the most promising business concepts will present a seven-minute pitch and answer questions from entrepreneurs and investors. Lastly, the top three teams from each track will present a seven-minute pitch and answer questions from entrepreneurs and investors in front of a live audience.

During the question and answer event DiFelice will answer frequently asked questions, questions submitted through social media as well as questions from the audience. If you would like to submit your questions prior to the event, you can do so by clicking this link.

Hen Hatch registration is currently open and will close Jan. 22. The final round of the 2018 Hen Hatch competition will take place on April 24 at The Queen in Wilmington, Del.
