University of Delaware celebrates the 5^th anniversary of Horn Entrepreneurship, a multi-faceted initiative dedicated empowering innovators and entrepreneurs as they pursue new ideas for a better world.  

Horn Entrepreneurship announced the launch of the new Blue Hen Proof of Concept (BH-POC) Program during their five-year anniversary celebration on October 3 at the Venture Development Center.

Horn Entrepreneurship launched a new program this fall that provides free legal advisement for student entrepreneurs every other week of the fall 2017 semester in the Venture Development Center.

Registration for the 2018 Diamond Challenge competition is now open and will remain open until January 5, 2018 when submissions are due.

The University of Delaware recently received a $60,000 supplemental grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to partner with Delaware State University (DSU) to aid their researchers in commercializing scientific discoveries.

Mariano Di Gabriele, Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Class of 2018, has utilized classroom skills to help his singing and songwriting career. The Wilmington raised musician just released his debut EP, “Thicker Skin”, on streaming services SoundCloud and Spotify. The debut project includes the charity track “Endlessly Devoted” which raised more than $200 for the B+ Foundation to fight childhood cancer. “Thicker Skin” is the culmination of years of writing and developing in Di Gabriele’s time at the University of Delaware.

The University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship has announced the winner of the 2017 Siegfried Award for Entrepreneurial Leadership, business leader and author Verne Harnish.

Harnish is founder of the world-renowned Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO).

After traveling abroad with Students for Haiti, Alyssa Kuchta found her passion and started selling unique handmade jewelry to fundraise for earthquake relief in Haiti. She taught herself the craft and started her own business in 2011. 

This year’s Workshop Wednesday series will be held every Wednesday of the fall 2017 semester at 12:30 p.m. in the Venture Development Center.
