Lead Change. Be Nimble. Cultivate Character as a Siegfried Fellow

2024-2025 Siegfried Fellows

Mark your calendars! The University of Delaware's prestigious Siegfried Fellows Program is set to open applications on Saturday, March 1, 2025. This highly selective, 10-month immersive experience is designed for ambitious student leaders looking to elevate their skills and make a meaningful impact.

The Siegfried Fellows Program embodies three core principles: Lead Change, Be Nimble, and Cultivate Character. This cohort-based program helps UD students refine their leadership skills, build meaningful connections with regional leaders, and drive positive change. Emerging leaders in the program will develop crucial entrepreneurial mindsets, including resilience in the face of setbacks, creative problem-solving skills, and the cultivation of character virtues.

The impact of the Siegfried Fellows Program is best captured by those who have experienced it firsthand. As Siegfried Fellows Graduate Assistant Amy Swain shared, "The Siegfried Fellows Program gave me the opportunity to explore leadership on a personal and professional level. The experience allowed me to see the true impact undergraduate students can make in leadership when given the right tools.” This testimonial underscores the program's commitment to fostering personal growth and creating a supportive network of leaders.

Siegfried Fellows gain hands-on leadership experience in a tight-knit community, applying their skills through real-world projects that create lasting impact. They also enjoy:

Exclusive leadership development opportunities – including travel, conferences, and workshops;
Meaningful mentorship and networking with industry leaders and entrepreneurs;
A $1,500 fellowship stipend for successful program completion;
Eligibility for the annual Siegfried Student Award – a $2,500 prize for outstanding leadership.

The current cohort has experienced exceptional opportunities, including a New York City immersion trip, where Fellows engaged with business leaders at Cisco and the Institute of International Education, and participated in dynamic discussions on leadership.

As current fellow Ryan Frankis noted, “The Siegfried Fellows is a leadership program that has allowed me to build a foundation of character development while guiding myself to learn how to lead not only others but myself,” emphasizing the transformative nature of this program.

Applications for the 2025-2026 Siegfried Fellows cohort will open on March 1, 2025, and must be submitted by March 23, 2025. Don’t miss this opportunity to transform your leadership potential and make a lasting impact on your campus and beyond! Please reach out to Siegfried Fellows Faculty Director Johann Ducharme with any questions you may have.
