Reinventing Delaware
Many Horn Entrepreneurship faces were chosen as Reinventing Delaware semifinalists for 2019. James Massaquoi of 360VR Technology is joined by Adam Stager of TRiC Robotics and Markevis Gideon of NERDiT Now on the semifinalist list. NERDiT Now was also recently featured on Shark Tank.
360VR
360VR Technology, a 3D modeling platform to aid first responders founded by Sury Gupta and James Massaquoi, recently won $50,000 at the 2019 Fall Ratcliffe Foundation Shore Hatchery. Additionally, 360VR placed first at the 2019 Next Gen Philadelphia pitch competition. The startup was also featured on PHL17 “In Your Neighborhood” as well as in Today in Tech.
Wilminvest
Wilminvest, a socially conscious venture dedicated to fighting the abandoned property blight in Delaware’s largest city, was founded by Bryce Fender and Joel Amin. Wilminvest recently won $14,000 in cash and services at the Swim with the Sharks competition.
VentureWell
"MycoHens Footwear: Producing biodegradable shoe soles using renewably sourced materials” led by Huantian Cao, PhD, Director of Graduate Studies, Department of Fashion and Apparel Studies was funded by VentureWell in the E-team phase I.
Semiconductor Today feature
Peng Cui from Amplus was published in the Semiconductor Today magazine.
EDGE Grants
Avkin and W7 were among the first startups to receive EDGE grants. Avkin and W7 hope to use the extended funding to improve their marketing campaigns across the country to reach new customers.
New podcast
Adjunct professor and founder of First Ascent Design John Himics has launched a new podcast, Cooler Than Me. The idea has been made a reality by the work of UD student Matt Lupoli.
Blue Hen 17&43 Awards

Princeton Review Ranking
Horn Entrepreneurship was ranked as one of the top undergraduate entrepreneurship programs in the country, jointly ranked #38 of 50 just seven years after its founding. Tim Furlong provided his take on this exciting development.
GCEC Finalist Award
The Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) named University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship a finalist for the Excellence in Specialty Entrepreneurship Education Award for Horn’s Youth Initiative.
Our Lens Challenge

The U.S. Small Business Administration on recently announced new funding for the Blue Hen Proof of Concept, a startup incubator program under the University of Delaware Horn Entrepreneurship.
