The Horn Ambassadors: Part Two

Written by Lauren Kelly | Apr 9, 2020 6:26:47 PM

For those who missed our introductory article, the Horn Ambassadors are a select group of students that have been chosen to represent the Horn Entrepreneurship Program. From working events at the Venture Development Center to talking to prospective students about the entrepreneurship major, the Horn Ambassadors are strong representatives of the University’s entrepreneurial community. In the second installment, we’ll get to know a few ambassadors a little bit better!

Adam Zelinsky

Senior Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation major with a minor in EconomicsBiggest takeaway from being an Ambassador:  One thing I've learned through my role as an Ambassador for Horn is that entrepreneurship is applicable and useful for nearly every student in college. There is so much value to be gained through an entrepreneurial education at this stage in our lives, with the world evolving as rapidly as it is. The future is so unpredictable that it is important to be able to recognize value in places you might not expect.

Favorite thing about being an Ambassador:  I love getting to spread the word about my favorite program at UD. Horn made such an important impact in my college experience, it's great getting to give back to the program. We've built an amazing community of people here, and I look forward to that family growing!

Amanda Monachelli

Junior Entrepreneurship major with a minor in Organizational and Community LeadershipBiggest takeaway from being an Ambassador:  The way you conduct yourself (clothing, body language, etc) can make such a great impression.  We are representing Horn and need to portray ourselves in a way that communicates the value of Horn and everything we have to offer.

Favorite Thing about Being an Ambassador:  I love interacting with the prospective students! Knowing that my conversation with a family can determine whether they come for another visit or decide to commit to UD means the WORLD to me.  I love having an impact.

Andrew Cercena

Junior Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation majorBiggest takeaway from being an Ambassador: My biggest takeaway has been giving back to Horn for all it has done to help me grow during my college career.

Favorite Thing about Being an Ambassador: Being able to keep up to date with all of the improvements taking place in the Horn program.

Ariel Hannum

Senior Biomedical Engineering major with a minor in Entrepreneurial StudiesBiggest takeaway from being an Ambassador: Being an Ambassador provides me the opportunity to reflect upon my Horn experiences. The experience has taught me how to compartmentalize and share my journey, which goes beyond talking to prospective students. Horn Ambassadors has demonstrated to me the importance of how you share your story.

Favorite Thing about Being an Ambassador: I really love being able to talk to prospective students. They have a lot of creative ideas and in a conversation you can learn from them as they do from you. Speaking with prospective students reaffirms Horn's values and I am fortunate to have been part of recruiting future entrepreneurs.

Other groups/activities you’re involved in: Undergraduate Research, Resident Assistant, Ambassadors of Biomedical Engineering, Delaware Innovation Fellows
