Hen Hatch 2021 Call for applications in NEW Pre-Application Option

NEW to Hen Hatch is an option to pre-apply for the fall Hen Hatch 2021 event. Pre-applications are being accepted until Friday, May 28 through 11:59 PM. The official application period follows beginning May 29.

What’s new?

Teams who pre-apply, and advance to the semifinal round but do not advance to the final round, of Hen Hatch will automatically win $500. In past years, only those teams who advance to the final round of Hen Hatch win funding.

How to apply

Teams may revise their application as often as they choose before the date applications close on October 18, 2021, at 11:59 PM.  The application requires basic information such as name, undergraduate status, and UD affiliation information, and the same for any team members involved. To proceed through the application (Hint) you may use a filler such as "not yet known" and edit it before your final submission before Oct 18, 2021.

What Hen Hatch Provides for Startup Teams

Participants in Hen Hatch receive guidance, visibility, startup funding, and in-kind services to help develop and improve their business concepts. Hen Hatch assembles an expert panel of judges, who offer their unique perspectives to review and ask impactful questions about submissions.
Hen Hatch offers two competitive tracks. One track, Pre-revenue, is open to student teams who have realized $0 dollars in revenue. A second track, Post-Revenue, is open to student teams who have realized $1 dollar or more in revenue. Teams may include any combination of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students currently enrolled in any UD degree program.

 
Revenue, for the purpose of this competition, is defined as consideration provided by a customer for value created by the startup as well as an equity investment. Revenue does NOT include grants, donations, prizes, awards, stipends, or sweat equity.
