Funding Innovation: apply for undergraduate entrepreneurship awards

Horn Entrepreneurship is now accepting applications for its annual awards and scholarships, offering more than $10,000 in cash and Venture Development Center credit. These awards recognize innovative and entrepreneurial undergraduate students from all majors at the University of Delaware.

The application process includes submitting an online application, providing faculty references, and detailing entrepreneurial achievements. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on March 12, 2025.

Brad & Jennifer Bono Award (One award available for $2,000) 

Recognizing students who demonstrate entrepreneurial leadership and a commitment to social impact, this award is for individuals who bring people together to address societal challenges. To apply, express your interest in the “Brad & Jennifer Bono Award” section of the application and highlight your initiatives.

Shawn & Sheryl McCall Award for Entrepreneurship (Two awards available, $2,500 each)

This award honors students who show strong entrepreneurial promise. Indicate your interest in the “Shawn & Sheryl McCall Award” section and share how you’ve applied entrepreneurship in real-world settings.

Horn Entrepreneurship Award (One award available for $1,500)

This award, funded by Horn faculty, supports students pursuing a new venture or educational opportunity in creativity, entrepreneurship, innovation, or leadership. To apply, select the "Horn Entrepreneurship Award" in the application and outline your plan for using the funds effectively.

David J. Freschman Scholarship ($4,000 available for multiple awards)

This scholarship supports students with energy, determination, and strong acumen—key traits of successful entrepreneurs. Applicants should highlight work experience, academic achievements, and extracurricular involvement, along with any financial need.

Rysheema Dixon Legacy Award (One award available for $2,000)

This award honors student social innovators and entrepreneurs dedicated to uplifting others, especially through projects benefiting socially and economically disadvantaged communities. Share your impact story in the “Rysheema Dixon Legacy Award” section to be considered.
